Students will learn about force and motion in relationship to Newton's Laws and celestial bodies. Students will gain an understanding of electric forces, magnetic forces, and gravitational forces and their impact on objects including how mass can impact forces. Students will be challenged with scientific engineering practices throughout the course to develop their STEM awareness

I am an elementary and middle school math and science teacher,  and have taught middle school science for 8 years from 6-8th grade. I am licensed as a science teacher from 6-12 grade, with a Masters in Science Education. I like making learning relate to real world experiences so students can connect to material easier than standard memorization. I review in a flow pattern that starts with basic information and expands into complex information to assist students with retention.

Students will receive practice materials to support each week's concepts, as well as STEM integrated activities to enhance STEM awareness and skills.

Students will be able to, at the end of each unit, complete a digital break out room and complete a quiz for each topic to support academic mastery. Scores of quizzes will be sent to families after each assessment is completed. Students will also receive a final project to using engineering practices and design their own process to demonstrate mastery.

Students will gain resources from the teacher, as well as use Kahoot for review, Google Slides for Breakout rooms, Super Science Digital Magazine (free), Google Jamboards for activities, Google Docs for notes and digital handouts, and Google Forms for assessment. Any labs that require supplies will be provided in the week's activity.
