During this class, students will explore Day of the Dead, a popular festival of Mexico. We’ll celebrate this day by drawing a Travel Girl wearing a “La Catrina” costume. La Catrina is the famous skeleton woman seen in many Day of the Dead artwork and celebrations. Students of all drawing abilities are able to enjoy this class as the Travel Girl is drawn using shapes and lines. In addition, this is a great way to Hispanic / Latinx Heritage Month. The class will begin with an introduction to...
Students will develop a basic understanding of the culture of Day of the Dead by exploring essential facts about the Mexican celebration. Also, students will improve their drawing ability by using common shapes to create a personalized Travel Girl wearing a “La Catrina" costume.
