Jump on a winged horse and travel around the world to visit unicorns from many different countries. Explore the mystery behind these mythical creatures described in fairy tales, myths, and legends. Discover more about these amazing creatures by looking at unicorn pictures, hearing stories, and coloring a rainbow and unicorn artwork. Visit Greece, Sudan, and Japan on this fantasy adventure and hear legends from different cultures. Play and learn on this interactive unicorn adventure! - Meet a mythical creature that has the horn of a unicorn and the head of a dragon. - Experience the magical moment when a unicorn breathes fire and ice. - Visit a unicorn with a multicolored horn that was described by an Ancient Greek historian. - Learn about the different animals that inspired unicorn legends. Learners are encouraged to bring unicorn toys as artistic inspiration, as well as wear unicorn headbands, hats, shirts, etc. I will also introduce Rainbow the Unicorn and wear a costume. Create a fantasy world artwork with unicorns, butterflies, and rainbows. At the end of this interactive adventure, we will share our beautiful unicorn artwork. *If there is a different date/time that would work better than the available sections, please send me a message. Teaching has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My mom taught at a bilingual elementary school in the South Bronx. I always admired the way she spent countless hours preparing for classes and the way she loved her job. I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Most of my eight years of teaching has been in the museum education field. I have taught hands-on arts classes in science, art, and history museums in Florida and Massachusetts, as well as abroad in Costa Rica.
I live in Florida with my husband and our cat, Patrick. I have a B.A. in Art History degree as well as a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida. Additionally, while I was working in a history museum in Boston, I took evening classes in Art Education at Harvard.
I believe that learning should always be engaging and fun. My experience has taught me that most children learn and retain information the best when the lesson is hands-on. My classes have educational topics that incorporate an arts and crafts activity.
