Students will be taught a new word problem strategy each time class meets. The first week will focus on is one step word problems. Week 2 will focus on multi-step word problems. Week 3, we will work on word problems with a hidden questions. Week 4 will be a mixed review for a final assessment. Students will have a homework to do after learning new strategies each week through video meeting. The first 15 minutes of each video session will go over a new lesson. I will work through two problems with them for 15 minutes. The last 15 minutes will be students working on problems through collaborative discussion. Word problems will include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
