In this weekly math tutoring course, students will practice math concepts in an stress-free, engaging, and positive learning environment. This course is best suited for students who are struggling with or looking to get ahead on math topics. The 30 minute block is the perfect amount of time to learn and practice a skill, while keeping students engaged. I am passionate about engaging students in math lessons that they will love and learn from. For this private tutoring session, parents/guardians will provide the teacher with information about their learner's math needs at least 24 hours prior to class time. This will allow the teacher the time to create an individualized learning experience for the student for each tutoring session. What will you get? A personalized lesson each week for your child (I love using students' interests as a basis for our lessons and will send a questionnaire prior to our first meeting). A short video that students can access after the lesson that will walk them through the concept taught. Teacher-created resources (worksheets, games, etc.) Access to the teacher after each lesson - students can send in their completed work, ask clarifying questions, etc. on the classroom page. Examples of topics covered in this tutoring course: Multi-digit multiplication Long division Decimal operations Fractions and fraction operations Measurement conversions Area & Perimeter Word problems Algebraic expressions ***along with all other third-fifth grade math concepts!***

Hello, and welcome to Outschool! My name is Ms. Kristin. I am a licensed elementary school teacher with my Masters Degree in Elementary Education for grades 1-6. I absolutely love teaching! I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 in a brick-and-mortar school for over eight years and have been teaching online, too, for the past four years. As a classroom teacher, I have become very familiar with elementary subjects for grades 1-5 and their corresponding standards in math, English, reading, writing, science, social studies, and test prep. Familiarity with different grade levels allows me to differentiate my instruction and guide students to higher levels of thinking as they master grade-level concepts and seek to enhance their skills. My lessons are based on Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.
