Students will learn tips and tricks for addition facts up to a sum of twenty. As they are doing so, they will be discussing related subtraction facts. Math will modeled in a fun and enthusiastic manner so that students can make connections between math facts.
- Students will learn that math facts are related and should be able to more easily do math facts up to a sum of twenty mentally if they grasp the concepts taught.
I have taught elementary school for twenty years. When I was young, we merely memorized facts. It was not until I taught it that I was able to see the connection between the math facts. I can help children make sense out of math and do more of it mentally.
