9-11세를 위한 수학 모험: 주간 수학 동아리

Math Adventures is an ongoing math club that will help your upper elementary student reinforce their math knowledge and explore new areas of math. Each class will focus on helping children engage with mathematical ideas for themselves through games, word problems, and group work.

Each week we will explore a new topic. These topics will help children consolidate their mathematical knowledge and also investigate new areas of math.

Topics will be selected to be relevant and interesting to the children in the club, but you can expect themes like:
--Arithmetic with fractions and decimals
--Rounding numbers
--Using diagrams to interpret data
--Finding area and perimeter of shapes
--Calculating the probability of events
And so much more!

Math should be engaging, so I use lots of of concrete, practical examples, discussion, and games to engage children in the topic of the day. 

In each club meeting we will:
--Gather - Meet your fellow adventurers and introduce ourselves.
--Warm Up - Get ready for our adventure with some mental exercises
--Explore - Learn about the math topic for the day through games and activities.
--Wrap up - Finish with a word problem related to the day's theme

Children are welcome to join the club any time. This club is most suitable for children in upper elementary school (in the US) or Key Stage 2 (in the UK). This club supports the National Curriculum in England.
