수업 소개
This one-on-one session aims to transform students into stronger and more confident public speakers. Using games and exercises from the world of improv comedy and theater, students will have the opportunity to learn how to convey their thoughts to a group of people. Improv is a form of comedy or theater where everything is made up on the spot without rehearsal. The tools and techniques that improvisors and actors use can be applied to public speaking. Students will learn to express themselves, to tell clear stories, and to feel comfortable speaking in front of a group. This class is a taught by a Second City Theater trained teacher who has taught countless children and teens and even worked with executives at Fortune 500 companies to help them develop compelling talks and presentations. This is the perfect class for students who are looking to build their confidence as public speakers. I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.
I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.
I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.
