In this social time, we will spend time chatting, learning about each other, encouraging one another, laughing and celebrating our wins. We will have ice breaking questions and weekly goals. We'll talk about our favorite things and sharing in relevant topics of life, i.e. music, hobbies, sports, school, etc. There is nothing better than feeling seen and heard by friends!
We will start with a "rose" (high point) and a "thorn" (low point) from everyone's weeks. We will always finish class with a "bud," something he/she is looking forward to in the coming week. This leaves room for the classmates to get to know each other and grow in relationship with one another.
Class topics will vary from playing music trivia games to sharing our favorite songs to dream-boarding. Through all of these activities, students will begin to open up and feel more and more comfortable.
Feel free to come to class in your cozy clothes and hang out with us! Anyone is welcome! :)
NOTE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS
I have spent the past four years working with students of all ages at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I get to spend a lot of time working through songwriting with them. This experience has become somewhat of a therapeutic one for students. They open up their hearts to me, and we wind up sharing in the joys and hardships of being a kid. I love nothing more than getting to connect with each child.
