In this ongoing, weekly class we will talk about different parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives etc.), take turns filling in our Mad Lib story and then we will read it aloud and crack-up! Students will take turns choosing words to fill in our story and we will fill in as many stories as time permits. The themes of the stories will be varying, from animals, Pokémon, Star Wars and just about everything in between. Students will have the opportunity to read the story aloud if they choose, although reading is never required.  This is a super fun way to get kids excited about grammar without them even knowing they are "learning!" This class is great for kids just learning the parts of speech (I will of course be there to guide them along if/when they need help) and students who are comfortable with the parts of speech but want/need practice. I will always take suggestions from the students about what themes they would like to explore in future classes.

My class setting is a relaxed, fun, open space for students to be able to discuss and express their thoughts about what we are learning. I encourage student interaction with not only myself but with their fellow classmates. Everyone is expected to be respectful and listen to one another but also feel like they have the ability to share their own thoughts and opinions. I believe learning should be fun and try to provide a space for that to happen.
