This course will be presented in two parts. Week 1 will focus on the Life of Louis Braille and the Braille system of reading for people who are blind. Teacher Tricia will read the book "Six Dots: a Story of Young Louis Braille" by Jen Bryant. I have been a Braille user since early childhood, learning to read and write it at the same time my peers were learning print. In addition, I have taught Braille to others who had recently lost their sight or who were just beginning to learn to read. As a person who is blind, I am comfortable and knowledgeable with the subject and welcome all questions from students and parents.
