In this young writer’s class, students will draw a picture and brainstorm a sentence or title to describe the picture. Students will learn from the writing section of the rubric that a sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark. They will also learn the importance of spacing between the words. In the drawing section of the rubric, students will learn how to start with a simple picture and add details to it. Students will learn that we can make up a title or sentence to describe our picture. Students will look at the drawing part of the rubric to see examples of details that can be added to a picture to make it more interesting and tell a story.
