In this class, students will learn the basics of poetry (rhyme scheme, rhythm, stanza, etc.) and then learn to write their own limerick. The class will be a combination of group learning for concepts, practice and introductions. Then, students will work both individually and in small breakout groups on their own poems. I have taught middle school Language Arts for over 20 years and have often taught limerick writing as a part of my class.
