Is your learning starting to write letters or need some extra practice with letter formation? If so, you've come to the right place! In this on-going course, students will work on letter formation by making letters out of playdoh. We then will practice writing the letters on handwriting paper (posted in the classroom upon enrollment) while discussing the placement of different parts of each letter. While talking about each letter, students will also be exposed to the different sounds each letter makes. Each week will cover a few different letters. Week 1 - Letters A - D Week 2 - Letters E - H Week 3 - Letters I - L Week 4 - Letters M - P Week 5 - Letters Q - T Week 6 - Letters U - W Week 7 - Letters X - Z Join us for as many weeks as your learner is interested in!

Students will learn about letter formation and practice writing them as well. Students will learn about the different sounds of each letter. Students will also practice using materials appropriately (playdoh). Students will also utilize their skills to follow directions as we form the different letters together.

Play-doh will be used during class. Play-doh may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease.

Hello! My name is Lauren and I am excited to be teaching here on Outschool! I am looking forward to teaching early childhood development classes - preschool math, literacy, social skills and more! I have worked with children/students of all ages. My primary focus is with young children as I have a bachelors degree in elementary education (prek - 4th) which I obtained through Grand Canyon University. I have spent the last 10 years working in an early childhood development center, primarily working with children ages 2-4. During these last 10 years I have developed and implemented curriculum across many content areas. Aside from teaching, I am a color guard instructor at both the middle and high school levels.
I think learning is all about having fun, especially with the younger children! My experience of running an early childhood classroom will aide me in providing fun and engaging lessons here on Outschool as well!
When I am not coaching or teaching, I am busy being a wife and a mom! My husband and I have a seven year old son who is currently in second grade and an infant daughter. My older son is very involved in sports, which means I am too! I also enjoy reading, journaling, and watching tv.
