Learners will leave the class having a firm grasp of how to write and what the different types of writing are. They will have also learned how to break down writing assignments to avoid overwhelm.

I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschool and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art. 

Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues.

I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.

Homework will be assigned each week so that students can review and practice the skills that were learned in that week's class. This homework should take approximately 15-20 minutes per day, spread over the week. Since we are learning to break down assignments, I would like students to take breaks at various points during the writing process. 

If students have questions regarding the homework, I encourage them to post in our classroom or message me directly, so that I can provide an explanation. I like my students to know that I am reachable through the platform outside of our scheduled class time.

While I will offer feedback on homework, I do not provide letter grades. At the end of the 13 weeks, I will provide overall feedback. A certificate of completion is available upon request to students who complete the course.
