Trick or Treat Halloween Ghost Cat : Clay Art : Air Dry Standing 3D Sculpture. It's best to prepare the learner's surface with wax paper or parchment baking paper, as the clay may stick. We will be sculpting an adorable Cat dressed in a ghost costume. The clay will air-dry, so no baking is needed. The supplies are listed to produce the effect as shown. Air-Dry Clay in White (for reference, I used Sculpey Air-Dry Porcelain, also known as Cold Porcelain) Pointy tool to poke through clay Smoothing tool or toothpick Covered surface to work on Aluminum foil for structure Acrylic paints in black and orange Small piece of wire If you would like to make Cold Porcelain Clay, this is the "no glue" method: Cold Porcelain Clay * 1 cup of baking soda * 1/2 cup of cornstarch * 3/4 cup of water * 1 non-stick pot or skillet Steps 1. Mix all of the ingredients in the pot/skillet and place on stovetop over medium heat. 2. Keep stirring the mixture until the clay thickens so that the clay can be lifted out of the pot in one piece (this may take up to 10-15 minutes!) 3. Set the clay aside to cool. When cooled, if the clay is too sticky to knead, place it back on the stovetop to heat again. You'll want the clay to be soft enough to knead, but not too soft where it sticks to your hands like a paste.
