Hello! My classes consist of explicit and systematic phonological awareness, phonemic awareness and phonics instruction for learners looking to strengthen their decoding and fluency skills. I utilize the Heggerty and UFLI curriculums to teach these skills. We will be using PowerPoint with our UFLI lessons and our lesson will focus on constant learner engagement and response. - Learners can be as early on in their reading as beginning to learn their letter names and sounds to more advanced readers who need support with blends, digraphs, and vowel teams in single to multisyllabic words. My goal is for learners to master 1-4 phonics skills per week.
I have been a teacher for 15 years. I currently teach First Grade and have taught students in grades K-8 in General Education and Special Education classrooms. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, K-8 with a Special Education Endorsement, K-12. I also have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and have been trained in the Science of Reading through the LETRS program.
