Are you wanting to improve your drawing skills? This five-week FLEX class will teach you the basic building blocks of realistic drawing that every artist should know! Understanding the fundamentals of drawing will take your skills to the next level. We're all at different stages in our art growth, but we have to start somewhere. This course will be suitable for artists who are new in their drawing journey and for those who have a bit of experience already. We will start the first week off...
Students will improve their realistic drawing skills by learning about value, grid drawing, proportion, direct observation, space, composition, color, complimentary colors, and facial proportions. Students will also be learning to work with drawing and coloring materials.
I am a certified art teacher with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education (K-12). I have taught art to students of all ages through art centers, summer art camps, and public schools.

Students will be given a drawing exercise and/or project to complete each week that aligns with the lesson. Students will complete these assignments individually and each project may take several hours spread out over the course of the week depending on the student's pace.수업 외 주당 4+ 시간

-Drawing paper (A nicer brand that I usually use is Strathmore, but cheaper brands will work as well. A paper pad that is labeled "Mixed Media" will be best for our color project on week four. This can also be used for the other drawing projects. I would recommend a minimum size of 8x10" or maximum 9x12". I will use 9x12". If you go larger, the projects will take a little longer. Printer/Copier paper will NOT be suitable for these drawings. If you have questions about brands, feel free to message me.) *price may range $6-11 -A set of graphite drawing pencils (Range of H to 6B is good. If you only have a few random pencils, you will need at least an HB and some kind of B (4B, 6B, or 9B) for best results. I have used prismacolor, steadtler, and faber castel. I don't have much of a preference as long as they work well for your learner.) *price may range $6-12 -Colored pencils (Prismacolor is a nicer brand of colored pencils, but not required. Other artist colored pencils will work fine. Crayola can work if it's all you have) *price may range $20-30 -A good block eraser (Preferably a white eraser, not a pink pearl eraser. I usually use a vinyl/plastic one. I've used many brands and they all seem to work fine if they're a plastic kind.) *price may range $4-7 -Ruler -Optional: Kneaded eraser (Kneaded erasers are flexible, moldable erasers that don't produce shavings. They work really well for lifting graphite off a drawing to add highlights. They last forever when taken care of and can be stretched out again if they happen to dry out over time. I always recommend having one for learners who are really interested in drawing, but it's not a necessity by any means. Entirely optional) *price may range $4-7 -Optional: Blending stick (Blending sticks are a paper stick used to blend out graphite and assist with shading. They can be found in a multi-pack) *price may range $4-5 *Pricing for these materials will range depending on where you shop. All of these items should be available on Amazon for delivery. If you prefer to shop in store, you can go to any arts and craft place. I've found these materials at Michael's and Hobby Lobby before.*
