This four week course is aimed at students who have already gotten a little bit of experience in learning how to play drums and are feeling like they are ready to challenge themselves by starting to play along with songs. Each week the student will receive a different classic rock song to learn. The student is provided with a full sheet music transcription of the song for drums as well as a full play-through video performance from me where I play the song note for note. I will then go through the sheet music with a fine tooth comb explaining in detail every nuance while guiding the student through the various sections and changes within the songs. There will be great focus placed on proper methods of counting and analysis of the scores so the student can become well versed in reading drum notation and recognizing patters of beats and the various elements of the drum set. I will also explain and emphasize the importance of ear training so that students can begin to learn how to listen with intent and begin to learn also by ear and this also ties into memorization techniques which I will also highlight during the process. 

I am always available to the students as well. If there are ever any questions or if the student is stuck they can reach out to me at anytime and I will respond with advice, and supplementary video assistance if needed with tricky parts. 

Week 1: The first week we will learn the hit song by Guns n Roses that took the world by storm in 1988 "Sweet Child O Mine" is definitely a classic timeless rock song and it's also got some great drumming that's both fun and challenging for a young drummer.

Week 2: We're going to dig into another mega 80s hit song that was featured in the massive move Rocky lll. It's "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor, another all time classic with some great rock drumming in it. 

Week 3: Metallica are without a doubt one to the biggest rock bands of all time and their biggest hit of all is "Enter Sandman" from their fourth album "The Black Album" of 1991. This is an absolute must learn song for every rock drummer. 

Week 4: We will finish the course off with an all time classic by one of the most definitive hard rock bands of all time: AC/DC from Australia and possibly their biggest song ever "Back in Black". This is such a great song and it's got alot of super fun and deceivingly challenging drumming in it. Definitely a must learn rock song. 

After learning these four tunes the young drumming student will have gained a whole new arsenal of abilities and skills, and hopefully they will be inspired to seek out more songs to learn in the future.
