US Grade 5 - 8
I have taught math in the classroom using these books and the Saxon curriculum. This is an open/flexible type of class where I will have some topics planned to cover, but I'm also available to cover any requested topics as well. We can review for tests or quizzes, check homework, work on corrections for class and more. This is a great session for homeschoolers or anyone that wants extra instruction and review. For private tutoring, sessions can be tailored depending on the student's needs. The more learners that join, the less each student needs to pay. I will reduce the rate $10 per student for every student over 1 that joins. For example, the cost for one student is $65, but if there are two people enrolled, the cost per person would be $55. If 5 people are enrolled, the cost per person would be $25 per person. So, invite your friends to join you. Each class will start with a warm-up problem. I will answer any questions and work problems as needed. After that, we will review and learn sections using discussions, making connections, and more. At the end of class, students will have the opportunity to ask questions as they start working on their assignments for the following session. I have taught math classes using the Saxon Math books and am very familiar with the curriculum. I will help students learn the topics, review topics, study for tests, and complete homework. I can help make the topics interesting and relevant. This class teaches and reviews whole numbers, integers, fractions, and decimals and extends each skill to simplifying algebraic expressions, solving equations, inequalities, and word problems applying formulas, graphing, probability, and statistics. This class will build a strong foundation for further study of mathematics by actively engaging students through interactive activities and critical thinking problems. Students are then assisted in expanding and applying their basic skills outside the classroom with opportunities to solve problems in real-life situations using algebraic methods. The concepts covered lay the necessary groundwork for future math courses. This class is a wonderful supplement for those students using the textbook for homeschool, public, or private school.
