During this course, students learn a variety of drawing and coloring methods using pencil, crayons, Sharpie, and color markers. Children have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. During holidays, seasonal accessories can be added. The subject of this drawing class is cats and kittens! Rozine will guide students step by step, drawing large, basic geometric shapes with pencil. Details will be added lightly before students begin to color...
Rozine taught cartooning classes in Chicago in the early 2000's and since moving to Los Angeles in 2012. She has illustrated and published ten art-therapy, activity coloring books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
Students will need either a sketchpad, or a few sheets of drawing or printer paper. Pencils with erasers are a must. Coloring utensils can be crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers. Paint is fine, if student is familiar, but will not be taught during this class. A Sharpie marker is optional. Students can frame their artwork by stapling it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).
Inspired by Waldorf teaching methods, Rozine encourages independent thinking and creative problem solving in the classroom. Like the title of her first book, "Live Life For A Living," Rozine is living a dream making a living doing what she loves....
