수업 소개

영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
Does your learner love science but struggle to write essays? This class is a blend of the two! In this ongoing course, we merge science with writing so students learn vital English skills, all while deepening their interest in science.

We will learn about fascinating concepts in science, and we will write different types of essays based on our scientific exploration. Science is the fun part of class, while writing is the core academic focus. Students will be driven by their passion for science to write strong arguments based on research and facts.

We will write one essay per unit. Each unit is 5 weeks long. Each week, we will work on the essay together in class. Students will also be expected to work on the essay outside of class. By the end of each unit, they will have completed the entire writing process from brainstorming to final proofreading. The goal is for learners to gain the confidence to use the writing process independently on future assignments.

This means it’s best to join the class at the start of a unit. For the best experience, I suggest enrolling at the start of a unit so learners can begin at the start of the writing process.

The structure of class will be similar each week. We will start by reviewing the homework from the week before. Next, we will explore the science topic and work on the next step in the writing process. Every class will end with a homework task. The homework task will involve completing the step in the writing process that we began in class.

Classes will also include quizzes, games, worksheets, discussion, peer review and feedback from the teacher on their work. There will also be opportunities to read out loud. Each class will use a variety of teaching methods to engage every type of learner.

Students will receive feedback throughout the entire process. However, students will receive detailed feedback on the completed essay at the end of the unit.
