Lesson is aimed for pre-readers new to Scratch Jr. Please note: you will need to download the app: Scratch Jr., before class. This app is available on iPads and Chrome books. Students will practice the basics of programming, problem solving and critical thinking skills with Scratch Jr. Projects: Day 1 - Going to School Day 2 - Going to Space Day 3 - Playing Sports Students will learn the following in a series of classes: - use and code one or more characters - change the look and size of a character - use one or more background - create your own character and/or background - add voice to characters - use command repeat - use speed command - hide and show characters - add speech bubbles Students will follow along with teacher as we create a new project every day. I recommend you connect to class using a different device in order to view my screen as I model.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.리뷰
