Over the summer, the top debaters keep working and improving. Through this Summer Camp, I will keep your debater sharp and improving, helping them to be several steps ahead of their competition. In this Summer Intensive Program students will: 1. Debrief one past Lincoln Douglas topic, as well as a current topic. 2. Learn to construct an Affirmative and Negative case with evidence and rebuttal blocks. 3. Learn specific progressive case styles and tactics such as, "word picks", "tricks", "t shells", and "kritiks". 4. Learn how to conduct a productive Cross Examination. 5. Learn how to properly attack and defend their specific arguments. 6. Participate in mock debates with other students. Each lesson is 50 minutes long, allowing for optimal improvement and work time. As a national debater, I find that Intensive camps are the best way to not only prepare debaters for the upcoming topics, but to also ensure that they are more prepared than their opponents, leading to more success. If your student wants to excel in debate, sign them up for this camp.
