In this class, students will receive an introduction of 13 different topics linguists study when they look at language, language use, and the formation of words and sounds. My name is Heather Crouse and I am excited to work with your learner. I have a BA in French and I am a licensed French teacher grades preK-12. I also have an MA in Linguistics with an emphasis on Applied Linguistics. My fieldwork and dissertation focused on hedging and repetition in speech of all female groups. I love language, grammar, and the study of people and language. I look forward to sparking an interest in your learner for linguistics as well.
