Students will be able to identify spelling patterns and apply them to new words. 
Students will improve their command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
Students will be able to identify parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives).
Students will be able to write complete dynamic sentences and identify the parts.
Students will write a narrative with a cohesive story plot.
Students will be able to produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate.
With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, and editing.

Our educators have a combined decade of experience in traditional classroom settings as well as virtual teaching. We differentiate or teaching to meet the needs of a wide variety of learners. We are both life-long learners and want to share our love of learning with your child!

Students will need to complete unfinished work from classes prior to the next class. I will not assign busy work and most nights students will have no formal assignments.  
Additionally, students are encouraged to read independently a book of their choice for 20 minutes each day.

Students will be assessed both formally and informally throughout the class. A letter grade can be provided upon request at the beginning of the quarter.
