During this class, students will discover the beauty of Japan through traditional clothing. Students will draw a Travel Girl character wearing a “kimono,” the traditional Japanese dress. Students of all drawing abilities are able to enjoy this class as the Travel Girl is drawn using shapes and lines. I taught English in Japan for two years and fell in love with the culture. Students will develop a basic understanding of the culture of Japan by discussing essential facts about the country. Also, students will improve their drawing ability by using common shapes to create a personalized Travel Girl character wearing a “kimono."
I lived and taught English in Kochi-ken on Shikoku Island (Japan) for two years. I enjoy drawing and love sharing my Travel Girl's adventures with students.
