Students will be introduced to and learn a variety of martial arts techniques. These techniques may include: Kicks (front, crescent/rainbow, round) Punches (center, face, twisting) Blocks (high, center, lower) Rolls (rolling on the back in a ball) Falls (seated back fall, forward fall) Terminology (counting 1-10 in Korean, names of techniques)
I have been teaching karate to students under age 10 for the last six or so years and I work regularly with students aged 3-6. I am skilled at redirection and patient with learners who are having trouble. My classes are upbeat and encouraging and I work to mention each student's successes during class.

Karate is a contact sport and accidents can happen. When we are practicing individual drills, there is little risk of injury other than occasional falls when balance fails. When we are working in sibling pairs, it would be advised that a grown-up is available to mediate any conflict that may come up, but I will try my best to point it out verbally if I see something going awry and will stop partner work if a particular group is having trouble that day.
