Biological Evolution and Diversity 🌍 3-LS4-1: Analyze and interpret data from fossils to provide evidence of the organisms and the environments in which they lived long ago. 🦕 4-LS1-1: Construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction. 🌿 2-LS4-1: Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats. Earth’s History and Processes 🏞️ 2-ESS1-1: Use information from several sources to provide evidence that Earth events can occur quickly or slowly. 🦴 4-ESS1-1: Identify evidence from patterns in rock formations and fossils in rock layers to support explanations for changes in a landscape over time. Physical Science and Energy ⚡ 3-PS2-1: Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object. 💡 3-PS2-2: Make observations and/or measurements of an object's motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to predict future motion. Crosscutting Concepts 🔄 Patterns: Identify patterns in nature that help us understand prehistoric life and evolutionary trends. 🎯 Cause and Effect: Explore how environmental changes caused species to adapt, thrive, or become extinct. 🌐 Systems and System Models: Understand ecosystems of the past and how different prehistoric creatures interacted within them. Engineering Design and Creativity 🏗️ K-2-ETS1-2: Develop a simple sketch, drawing, or physical model to illustrate how the shape of an object helps it function as needed to solve a problem. 🏛️ 3-5-ETS1-2: Generate and compare multiple possible solutions to a problem based on how well each is likely to meet the criteria and constraints of the problem.
학습 목표
The main focus will be on allowing young dinosaur enthusiasts to share their love of dinosaurs, favorite facts, exciting resources, and prized dinosaur toys with fellow dino-loving friends. The short lesson at the beginning will provide a framework for these discussions and will help the young scientist to build and develop observation, recreation, and communication skills. The field guide will serve as a fun keepsake and reference for future dinosaur studies and reflection.

I'm so excited to share my love of ALL THINGS DINOSAUR with you! I've been teaching STEAM topics like dinosaurs to preschool through middle school for 6 years through an independent STEAM education company, and I'm really looking forward to connecting with new students here on Outschool. Not only will we be learning about the monstrous reptiles of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods--but we'll sneak in some colors, numbers and math, comparing and contrasting, observation, movement and more--all things that preK, kindergartners and 1st graders love to learn and practice! Best of all, your child will have the opportunity to share, share, share all of their favorite dinosaur facts and figures!
