This class will cover the basics of SQL. SQL is a widely-used programming language. Large websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. all use SQL to store data. We'll first make sure everyone can download the SQL client we' re using. Then students will follow along as they learn how to query data. The course is very open and questions are encouraged. While it's not required, multiple monitors will be helpful.

We'll spend the first few minutes of class downloading the appropriate software. I recommend BeeKeeper Studio because it's free and open-source. Also it has a portable version for Windows.
