In this course, students will be given guided practice problems to practice representing real-world situations with integers, comparing the values of integers, placing integers in sequential order, as well as finding the opposite of and the absolute value of given integers.  This should not be the student's first exposure to this mathematical operation. Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using visual models and number lines to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of place value before attending this class.
