This is a one-meeting class meant to be a short taste of the 8 week version: "Watercolor and Gouache 101: Color, Texture, Movement" The lesson is structured around a quick getting to know each other and the interests of the learner. Then we jump right in with a demo and learn to use techniques like washes, blooms and salt textures. We then observe our creations and decide what the blooms, textures and shapes remind us of: what do they look like? We transform the abstraction by giving it a figurative context. Its a fun game which strengthens the learner's imagination and sensibility, while giving a peek into the creative journey that lies ahead.
