Students will meet over three classes to learn how to apply the element of value to their art. Each class will start with a lecture or demo, followed by independent work time. For the first class, we will begin with basic exercises such as creating a value scale. In the second we will learn how to apply value to add depth and contrast to an art piece. During this time students will all be working on the same image. Finally, in the third class, students will take what they have learned and create their own individual greyscale art piece. During this class, students will be able to consult me for advice on their pieces.
