Jazz dance is a fun form of dance that blends both European and African dance styles. It is a very lively type of dance. In this one time class, your student will get a crash course in the most important and fundamental steps of the jazz dance style. These steps will include: *Ball change *Pivot turns *Forced arch *Chasse to the side, ball change, then pivot turn, pivot turn *Kick ball change *Kick ball change into passe hold *Chasse across the floor to grand battement to the front *Alternating chasse

An adult caregiver should supervise students as they take this class and ensure that they adhere to the correct flooring requirement, spacing requirement, and clothing requirement. Dance is a physical art form and injuries can occur if children are not focused and not practicing in the right setting or clothing. Please encourage students to wear ballet or jazz dance shoes.
