In this one-week FLEX class, students will be introduced to Procreate Dreams app for creating animation on the iPad. This new app (as of November 2023) is a wonderful tool that allows students who love to draw and create to make animations on their iPad. After an overview of the app, students will get started by making a short simple animation project of a moving snow person. This project will let students learn step-by-step some of the animation features and tricks in this complex app. Once...
Students will learn the basic features of the Procreate Dreams app. They will create a simple animation using drawing tools, tracks, and keyframe animation to move, warp, distort, and change filters on their drawn elements.
Karen Bosch is a recently retired teacher with over 4 decades of teaching both in the elementary classroom and with PreK - 8 students using iPads, Mac Computers, and other technology tools. She has vast experience with designing technology learning experiences for students geared for their age level and needs. Her passion is to help students unlock their creativity using iPads and other technology devices - not just play games and watch videos! She is an award-winning educator and has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Educator and Michigan Technology Using Teacher of the Year.

Parents will need to download/prepare: *An iPad with the most recent version of the paid Procreate Dreams app (rated ages 4+) downloaded in advance. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/procreate-dreams/id1595520602 *A separate computer or screen (not the iPad they are using for Procreate Dreams) to watch the video lesson in the Outschool classroom while they work on their iPad. *An Apple Pencil or Logictech Creayon (Another stylus may work, but may not have the same pressure sensitivity as the Apple Pencil.)
