**CLASS STRUCTURE** This interactive class is designed for learners who already know a little bit of Japanese and want to keep building their skills. Each week, we will dive deeper into beginner and early-intermediate Japanese by learning vocabulary, sentences, and expressions through popular anime. Students will also have chances to practice speaking and writing during class. Every third class, students will review what they’ve learned by playing a fun Kahoot game together! ------------------------------------ **PREREQUISITES** Students should: 🎴 Be working on memorizing Hiragana and Katakana. 👋 Be able to introduce themselves briefly in Japanese. 🔢 Know basic numbers (1–10). 🧠 Recognize around 50 basic Japanese words (including cognates). ------------------------------------ **SCHEDULE** Each week, students will: 🎌 Learn and practice new Japanese words, phrases, and sentences. 🗣️ Practice speaking in longer sentences and short conversations. ✍️ Learn to write or recognize Kanji. After each lesson, I’ll send students a copy of the slides for extra review. Optional homework will also be available for students who want more practice outside of class. ------------------------------------ **PARENTAL GUIDANCE** We will not watch full movies in class, but we may preview short anime trailers to practice listening skills. Students do not need to have watched the anime beforehand to enjoy the lessons. Some anime featured in the course are rated TV-14. However, I will only show age-appropriate clips suitable for all learners. Please be aware there may be some minor spoilers during lessons.

The MPAA ratings for these movies range from PG to T. We will watch some of the clips that are age-appropriate. Please preview the clips to make sure it's appropriate for your learners.
수업 자료
Bring something to write with and write on to take notes. A small dry erase board and markers if students cannot write on the screen (we will be writing Japanese characters from time to time).
