In 8 lessons, your student will learn the options in basic building materials & furnishings that go into different rooms in a home. Your student will be shown pictures of materials & given design tips from me, Ms. Katie, a professional interior designer about how to bring beauty & function into different spaces in a home. Then, students will be asked to post in the classroom their drawing(s), furnishing plan OR a design concept board (photo collage) showing how they would design that particular type of room. If you have a learner, who loves to sketch by hand, make collages of colors & materials or designs interior rooms in a computer app, then this class is for them! 

What to expect: 
🎥 8 Lessons, video in a slide show format taught by Ms. Katie.  
       Entire course is in Outschool Classroom. No need to leave the platform while learning, 
       but will need to research photos or use their own computer program online. 
📝 Recommended Projects/Assignments. No quizzes/tests.
😃 Teacher feedback on all assignments within 72 hours
📚 Self-Paced, 1:1 mentoring format w/no classmates. Enroll, selecting when you are ready to start & interact with the teacher for 8-weeks from that date. (Extensions for the teacher support available upon request.)

Important Notes:
👩‍🏫 Teacher availability for feedback/support is limited to a set number of students per fall/winter/spring/summer sessions. Please book ahead by picking an enrollment date for the school session you need to secure your spot. 

👨‍🎓 Class material level is designed for a mature middle schooler and high schooler.

🧐 Projects can be done by hand (then, take a photo to upload or classroom) or by computer app. I do not teach nor recommend a particular computer app, but students may use one of their choosing. Regardless of program the student uses, all work needs to be downloaded in the Outschool classroom as an attached image or video for me to interact, comment on. Outschool policy does not allow links to students' social handles or their accounts on other platforms for the class or teacher to view.

I am a professional designer, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design (Architectural, Interior, Landscape) as well as worked in the building industry for over a decade in California and Washington States.
