This ongoing course will cover various families and species of common and rare insect species. Each class meeting we will discuss 5 different insects and their common name, scientific name, identifying characteristics, and natural environments. Each class will have a title slide and a slide with common entomology terms to know for the course. These two slides will remain the same from week to week. Students will be able to identify 5 insect species by name and characteristics every week. Students will learn the native origins and habitat of each species covered.
I have my Bachelor's in Science in horticulture and greenhouse management and a minor in entomology from Iowa State University. I have over 3 years of entomology lab and field experience.

Print and study the slides provided from class to study from and keep up with all the insects you may learn while attending this ongoing course. Often names, spelling, and characteristics overlap between species, working on memorization will help in this course.수업 외 주당 0 - 1 시간

Quiz using slides and zoom chat features will be used to assess students. No formal grade will be given.제공되는 성적
Pencil and paper will be necessary for note-taking. Anything is okay, though having a composition or ruled spiral notebook for this ongoing class will help your student stay organized week to week. The price ranges for these, they are typically anywhere from $1-$3. Notes can also be taken on the slide printouts to be covered provided before class every week.
