Each week, students will have the opportunity to work through the writing process by working on their writing in class. Weekly teacher check-in's and conferencing will help students understand what they can improve upon. In writing, practice really does make perfect. Students will have the chance to build their confidence through their writing. Students will also develop public speaking skills as they share their work with the class.
I have nearly a decade of teaching experience. I have taught in the brick-and-mortar setting as well as online. I not only love to write, but I also love teaching writing. My degrees/certifications are: • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education • Bachelors degree in Elementary Education During my time in the public schools, I would frequently work 1:1 with special needs students to help them become better writers and accomplish goals outlined in their IEP’s.
Please send your learner to class with: • Pencil and notebook • Please remember to bring your story along with you each week. I can't stress the importance of not losing your work. I recommend getting a notebook or folder to store your writing in from week to week. **Graphic organizers are optional but will always be available. If you can print, please send your student to class with the graphic organizer IF they are beginning a new story that week. If you are unable to print, no worries. We can easily work around it.
