Welcome to 4th Grade Readiness!  In this class learners will meet 3x per week to ensure they are ready for 4th grade.  This class includes writing skills, math concepts, science, geography and reading skills.  All taught material is concepts taught in 3rd grade.  This is a kind of crash course review for 3rd grade.  We will meet for 4 weeks so 12 total meetings.  Each meeting will cover a different concept and will all come with homework.  These aren't things that need to be done before the next class but rather sheets they can work on throughout the summer to continue going over their concepts.  

Wild and Unstructured Learning is a hands on company.  This class will have a lot of different hands on activities to reinforce their learning experience.  Here is a full breakdown of what we will go over throughout class together.

Week 1-
Reading- How to think and talk about what they read in deeper and more detailed ways
Science-Earth and space
Writing- Research, planning, organizing our writing
Math- Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division fact families 
Geography- Identify places on a map using absolute and relative locations

Week 2-
Reading- Talking about the meanings, lessons, and important ideas in texts
Science- Electricity and magnetism
Writing- Write an essay with a simple thesis statement
Math- Read and write large numbers through the hundred thousands, knowing the place value for each digit
Geography- Directions and borders

Week 3-
Reading- Discussing different types of literature
Science-Plants; the cycle of life; animals
Writing-  Revising, and editing
Math-  Two-step word problems using all 4 basic operations
Geography-  Basic physical components of the earth including land forms, water, climate, and weather

Week 4-
We will spend this week paying close attention to the areas we notice that could improve.  This week will be tailored based on the  previous 3 weeks. 

Each week learners will do different science experiments and make hands on geography art as well as really work hard on their reading and math.  This class is perfect for any student who is going to start 4th grade concepts soon.
