The class will include references from the film demonstrating the different types of science (descriptive, experimental, investigative) and will discuss and interact with each other about what they are seeing. They will share stories about how they have used similar strategies to learn about the world around them and will come away realizing that science is really all about problem solving.  It is key that students have viewed the movie prior to this class.  Parent guidance and discussion questions for the movie are included in class documentation.
This class is intended to stand alone as an introduction to the process and method of science, but if students want to delve deeper, I encourage them to join the flex class "The Science of Dragons" which includes several weeks of experiments, activities, and additional videos covering science topics related to biology, ecology, genetics, and behavior.
