In this five-day course, How to Summarize What You Read, Part 2, students will learn about the three summary types of summaries--main point summaries, key point summaries, and outline summaries. After learning about each of the summary types students will write a summary of the article, The Origins of Famous Foods, using each of the three summary types. Students will learn about the three summary types of main point summaries, key point summaries, and outline summaries. They will write main point summaries, key point summaries, and outline summaries of the article, The Origins of Famous Foods. They will learn about the three summary responses of agree/disagree response, interpretive/reflective response, and analytic response and give examples of each. Students will also write a summary of the course, How to Summarize What You Read—Part 2, using one of the summary types and one of the summary responses.
