This class will teach students how to draw by breaking down subject matter into basic lines and shapes, doing simple steps first, and later adding more details.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Art Education and am certified by the state of Indiana to teach from preschool to 12th grade.  I have taught this particular art project to multiple elementary classes in a variety of schools.  It was always one of the favorite projects of my students and one that boosted their confidence.

The dragons will be started in class but not completely finished, so students can add more details and take their time to really perfect their drawings.  Since they will then have the ability to draw any type of dragon, they can make an entire colored or black and white dragon guide book on their own time as desired. Students will also be encouraged to take a photo of their finished drawing posted on the classroom page after class, so the class can have a virtual art show.

There will be no formal assessment, but I will look at each dragon to give the students help as needed and to encourage them to continue their with their creative drawing skills.
