수업 소개
This is an introduction to the Japanese language. Students will learn greetings, introductions, and basic questions, with a focus on when to use which phrase and with whom. Students will also be introduced to hiragana, one of the Japanese writing systems. Week 1: Greetings (Hello, goodbye, good morning, good night, etc) Week 2: Introductions (My name is... What is your name... etc) Week 3: Basic questions (Do you speak...? How are you? Where is the...?) Week 4: Hiragana (A-To) Week 5: Hiragana (Ha-N) Week 6: Putting it all together Because practicing is key for students learning a language, students will require a pencil (with eraser) as well as paper or a note book. Students will practice their hiragana penmanship to help them connect writing to speaking. Students will be expected to have both their cameras and microphones on during the class in order to demonstrate correct pronunciation and articulation. Learning will include reading, writing, and listening activities. The lesson will include slides, games, video clips, and discussion. No previous learning experience is required.

I have over 10 years of experience speaking Japanese with native speakers. I have taken both college level courses as well as self-study in the Japanese language as well as culture. As a professional I have worked with Japanese speaking students as they train to become certified child life specialists. I have also traveled to Japan 3 times, and two of those times were for work, including continuing education for my career.
