The class is designed to help you achieve your goals as a guitar player. Whether you want to learn theory and develop your own identity as a musician or just learn how to play a bunch of your favorite bands songs, I am here to help you learn what you want! There are no wrong answers as long as you have a guitar in your hand and are having fun learning something new! Class Goals: -Students will be able to play various genres of music - Students will learn to identify what key a song is in - Lesson plans will be tailored to achieve the individual goals of the student - Students are welcome to request certain songs be taught to them. -Students will learn many different ways to have fun with their instrument! Class Experience: Each class we will begin by tuning our guitars. Individual lesson plans may vary depending on what the student has an interest in learning. I will try to take advantage of opportunities to explain the theory behind whatever it is that interests your student. This way the student will gain a deeper understanding of the music they love and will allow them to grow as future musicians.

Practicing is an essential part of learning to play guitar. Class time is valuable because it lets the student know what to practice. Without practicing at home the student will have difficulty progressing. Many students can become discouraged at first and not want to practice because they don’t feel as though their practicing sounds musical. Musicality comes with time. The more a student is encouraged to practice the more they will be able to develop as a musician.
Music is supposed to be fun! Learning to play a musical instrument is a very rewarding lifelong adventure. I am very passionate about spreading the love and appreciate for music and helping others along their own musical journey.

Hello! My name is Mike and I have been playing guitar for over 20 years! I have played in various bands of many different genres. I have given and taken many lessons over the years for various different stringed instruments but the guitar has always been my home instrument.
Playing the guitar has brought me so much joy and has always been something I can rely on as a tool to help me relax or just express how I feel.
