수업 소개
This is definitely not your Granny's sewing class. The goal of this class is to have lots of fun, chat a bit and learn some great sewing skills! The projects will be fun and creative and the students get a say as well! Come sew with us and chat while we all create fun and useful hand-sewn projects. We will have daily projects, but from time to time we will also work on a larger project as well like a handmade teddy bear. If a student joins late and we are working on a larger project, I will ensure that the student receives instructions on how to catch up in the class. The class will begin with a quick check-in to see where everyone is with their sewing and this is the time to show off your work. Then, I'll introduce a new project that we will work on. No experience is required! I will show the project that is already made so that students will see what they are working towards. Then, we will create the project together during class. If we run out of time before people have finished their projects, then we can stay a little longer to make sure everyone has completed the project or is at a good place where they can finish the project on their own. Some same projects are: "kawaii" stuffies, retro pencil case, key chains, bookmarks, scrunchies, headbands, eye mask, and more. Students are more than welcome to suggest different projects as well. There will be sewing needles used and I will explain to the students at the beginning of each class about safety and using thimbles to avoid hurting themselves.
수업 자료
A list of supplies for each class will be sent out before each class, with the pattern so that students can find the perfect fabric for the project. No sewing machine required. We will be hand-sewing and will sew with a needle and thread. Materials for each class: thread, needle, scissors, straight pins, printed pattern. Kawaii Cat Sewing Kit - 3 buttons, 1 piece of black and 1 piece of white felt. Plus another piece of felt for the main kit of any color. Also, a piece of scrap yarn that is yellow or green. Embroidered Heart decoration - yarn of any color to make two pom poms, 1 piece of felt of any color; embroidery thread to match the yarn Fried Egg Coin Purse - 1 piece of white and 1 piece of yellow felt
