Students will read chapters in the book and be able to discuss aspects of the book such as character traits, cause and effect, theme, prediction, connections, etc... Students will answer questions about the book and give text evidence to support their answers. Students will politely listen to other group members opinions and respond in a respectful manner. Your child will learn that reading is FUN!
I have been a 3rd-5th grade Reading teacher for 16 years and always used book studies as a way to spark interest in reading, promote critical thinking, and practice important reading standards.
Students will need to buy or borrow a copy of "Greenglass House" by Kate Milford. There will be a pdf file in the classroom to download before each class.
