수업 소개
This is an introduction to the instrument the guitar! Both new players with no musical background, and players who know a little about music but are new to the guitar are encouraged to join this class. Students in this class will need to have a guitar. We will learn about the parts of the guitar, and then we will learn how the guitar makes sound. Students will practice playing each string together, and will answer simple discussion questions throughout the class. As the students become aquatinted with the guitar, we will move into reading guitar music notation called tab. Students will learn the basics of reading tab, and use the music notation to learn their first song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Hi, I am Miss Jessi! I teach a variety of classes about music, and enjoy making music together during classes. From preschool age students to aspiring young professionals, there is an educational opportunity for you as a musician in my classes. Many of my young students progress quickly in their enjoyment and understanding of musical concepts through the Kodaly teaching methodology. This means we will interact with sound before seeing it written down, and then develop musical literacy and instrumental skills.
I graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a Music Education degree. I have taught students ranging from 3 years old through college age, and look forward to helping new students reach their musical goals. I love interacting with young, creative musicians, and am inspired every day by my students.
