I am a working homeschool mom of two (both graduates). I have taught/tutored  math and science for more than 25 years and have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida A&M University.   I have a passion for helping students understand the why and how.  As an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), I excel in being able to connect with students who struggle and need a patient and supportive instructor. In my free time I love to knit, bowl, work logic puzzles and spend time with my family.

"I like to feel confident in whatever I do so that I can perform at my best.  I like to understand what I’m learning as well.  Naturally, when it comes to school, this applies.  I can perform my best in just about every subject on my own.  All except math.  Before I came to Mrs. Pugh, I had an average grade in math of about 70%.  Yes it was passing, but no, I wouldn’t be getting into college with that grade.  I knew that it wasn’t my best, and I didn't feel confident in that area of my academics.
