German Words and Expressions for High School This is an ongoing class, so learners can join anytime! This ongoing course is for students who are interested in learning German in a fun way without committing to a multi-day class. If you are interested in a full curriculum class where topics build on each other, please check out my German for Beginners year long - course: https://outschool.com/classes/german-for-high-school-beginners-expedition-XDmlsb8X?usid=4d6vo4SF&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link In each session, students will learn new German vocabulary and useful expressions in an immersive way without prior knowledge in German necessary. Therefore, the topics of the ongoing sessions will focus on everyday situations like ordering food in a restaurant, talking about hobbies and family, clothes, seasons, etc. (A1 level) I am a Native Speaker who embraces the multicultural diversity in my home country and who tries to avoid creating stereotypes in her language lessons (e.g. "All Germans eat Schnitzel and love David Hasselhoff." - though some do! :-))). Nevertheless, I will point out customs, preferences, and laws in Germany, if necessary and welcome. This is an interactive class and each student is encouraged to participate actively with video as the learners will have the chance to pronounce the words first for themselves (in mute) and then in class so that the teacher can give valid feedback on the pronunciation in an encouraging, safe way. Also, students will practice little everyday dialogues with each other (e.g. asking about hobbies). The amount of German/English that I will speak in each class will depend on the learners' abilities and preferences. However, I will always try to speak as much German as possible to ensure the learners' exposure to the language. Born and raised in Germany, I am a Native Speaker without accent, who has a German teaching degree. For 15 years I have taught High School students from over 40 nations in German schools and prepared them for the University entry level (Abitur). I love learning and talking about culture and idioms. These are possible topics for the ongoing sessions: IF YOU HAVE TOPIC REQUESTS, JUST SEND ME A NOTE!
